The Enablement Squad & Revenue Enablement Society: Super hackathon

What’s a Super Hackathon?

Picture a room buzzing with energy, filled with passionate professionals eager to collaborate and innovate. The Revenue Enablement Society and The Enablement Squad hosted an electrifying "Super Hackathon" event designed for in person mind melding and idea sharing. The goal was to bring together the brightest minds in the enablement community to foster collaboration and spark creativity.

It was like a massive brainstorm session on steroids, where ideas flew faster than the speed of light, and the excitement was palpable.

DISC Profile
Insights with Christina Brady

Before the event, all the participants took the DISC profile assessment to determine our communication styles. Take your own and follow along for the learnings. The DISC profiles break down into four types:

  • D (Dominance): Bold, adventurous, and sometimes a bit bossy. Imagine a High D on an adventure, conquering mountains and leading the charge with no fear— except for the fear of inaction!

  • I (Influence): The social butterflies who light up the room. They're the ones making friends with everyone and telling stories that make you laugh until your sides hurt.

  • S (Steadiness): The calm, reliable, and supportive folks. They're like the emotional support blanket of any group, ensuring everyone feels heard and valued.

  • C (Conscientiousness): The detail-oriented analysts. They ensure all T’s are crossed and I’s dotted, and their spreadsheets could probably run a small country.

Christina Brady's talk was both enlightening and entertaining. She explained how our individual styles affect how we communicate with the world and how the world communicates with us. How can you use these techniques in your own practice? How about turning the DISC profile exercise into a workshop? Break your teams into groups by their DISC types, using sticky notes to brainstorm traits, and presenting these traits in a fun and engaging way. Change Management
Hackathon Time!

We then broke into groups to discuss Change Management, a critical topic for revenue enablement professionals. Effective change management ensures that teams can adapt to new processes and tools smoothly, which is essential for maintaining productivity and achieving revenue goals.

Key Takeaways:

  • Change Fatigue: We're all feeling it. Unreasonable time horizons and constant changes are exhausting.

  • Peer-to-Peer Enablement: Leverage success stories and equip leaders with application-based training decks.

  • Documenting Processes: Chart out the current flow and create a solid plan. Avoid the chaos of “tossing things at the wall.”

  • Knoster Model: Use the model below to diagnose what’s missing if lagging indicators show a lack of adoption.

Key Takeaways (continued):

  • WGLL (What Good Looks Like): Emotional impact of go-live with a solid, transparent plan. Implement a multi-touch plan for sustained change management.

  • Formal and Informal Change Management: Share early and often. Don’t build in a vacuum; get feedback during the build phase.

  • Accountability and Success Metrics: Those delivering the change need to get it right and track absorption and adherence. Define what success looks like, set up success metrics, leading indicators, and business KPIs. Ask senior leaders how they'll support these changes.

  • Launch Training and Reviews: Concurrently launch training and set up data review times. Cross-pollinate experiences through breakout rooms, share wins, and bring leaders in for coaching. Preload answers in LMK for managers to use for coaching.

This event was an energizing blend of learning, sharing, and planning for impactful change management! The synergy and enthusiasm in the room were contagious, leaving everyone inspired and equipped with practical strategies to implement in their own organizations. We left with new connections, fresh ideas, and a renewed passion for driving successful change in our teams. The Super Hackathon truly lived up to its name, providing an unforgettable experience that will resonate with us for a long time to come.
