ENABLEMENT THROUGH COMMUNITY
OVERVIEW
Building a strong professional network goes beyond collecting LinkedIn profiles. It's about cultivating meaningful relationships with individuals who can offer diverse perspectives, share valuable insights, and even open doors you hadn't considered. These connections can be your sounding board for new ideas, your source of advice during challenging times, and your cheerleaders as you achieve your goals. The Enablement Squad was started over 5 years ago to achieve just that.
WHAT OUR LEADERS HAVE TO SAY
Alicia Heagle | Mentorship Chair
Being a solo enabler can feel isolating, but this community has completely changed that for me. I’ve met so many incredible enablers through the squad who not only have become “peers” but great friends. It feels like I’ve built my own dream team of people who I can call on for advice, gut checks, or inspiration. A lot of them have become information mentors - each bringing unique perspectives and guidance that have helped me grow.
I may be biased, but the mentorship program is one of the best parts. It’s a great space to connect with someone outside of your company who can help you see things from a different angle. Whether you’re navigating a challenge, looking for new ideas, or just need support, it’s all there. Even if you do have a large Enablement team, getting that outside perspective is invaluable. You don’t know what you don’t know, and if you stay with what you have always done, you’re not growing. This community is full of creative, generous people with fresh ideas on how to enable others.
LEann Leone | Partnerships Chair
The Enablement Squad has provided me with a community of like-minded professionals to bounce ideas off, learn from and collaborate with. My actual enablement team is small so being able to tap into a larger network is extremely valuable.
In today’s remote work environment, it takes intentionality to form relationships and connections and the Squad is a great place to do that - everyone is eager to network and form connections in this group.
As the Partnerships Chair, I’m able to flex my business development skills and keep them fresh which allows me to stay in tune with what my sellers are experiencing and serve them better. I also think it’s great to offer a platform for vendors to gain brand awareness and revenue opportunities with our network of enablement leaders.
Lindsay Hoyle | Mentorship Advisor
The Enablement Squad has given me a community of people to bounce ideas off of, learn from, and better build my craft. As a remote employee in a city with a smaller enablement presence, it’s been great to collaborate and communicate with my peers over Slack. The Squad provides excellent networking opportunities, both formal and informal, regardless of tenure within enablement. I’ve met some amazing people through the Squad who have since become friends.
It’s been such a gift to be able to learn, collaborate, and gain a new network in this wild world of enablement!
Nate Davison | Social Co-Chair
There is power in community—connecting with others in your industry who are facing similar challenges, seeking similar opportunities, and who get it like you do. It's been wonderful to meet so many other enablement professionals through the Enablement Squad, both in person (through events like mixers and Hackathons) and online (through webinars, Slack, and LinkedIn).
I’ve also found tremendous value in brainstorming big ideas and projects that Squad members are currently tackling. For example, I was recently launching a multi-week training series for a sales team I’m consulting, and after presenting the objective of the program to peers in our Slack channels, the Squad shared a variety of inspiring stories about similar projects they’ve faced—which helped make our series even more impactful for the audience.
Recently, I joined the Squad’s leadership team as the Co-Chair for Social, where I get to help spotlight the amazing opportunities created by the community—like podcasts, webinars, and live meetups.
For those of you in the enablement space who are looking to meet brilliant individuals from around the world, I highly recommend getting involved in some of the upcoming Squad opportunities.
Timmy Hendrickson | President
Soon after joining The Squad in the Spring of 2022, I became extremely active in the Slack community. I participated in discussions, implemented best practices, and networked with other Enablers. This community provided insights and data that I couldn’t have found anywhere else.
Fast forward to today, I’m happy to serve as The Squad’s President. I'm constantly reminded of a fundamental truth: in today's dynamic world, your professional network isn't just a luxury – it's a cornerstone of success. Whether you're seeking new opportunities, navigating industry shifts, or simply looking for support and inspiration, the connections you create are invaluable.
Conclusion
Actively engaging within a community like The Enablement Squad amplifies the benefits of professional networking. It provides a structured environment for organic networking, fostering collaborations, and facilitating knowledge sharing. By participating in discussions, attending events, and contributing your own expertise, you not only expand your personal network but also contribute to the collective growth of our community.
We hope our members have enjoyed their experiences as much as we have, and we look forward to creating even more meaningful interactions for our community in the months to come.
